Heart Matters

This past Tuesday we had Logan's appointment with his cardiologist. We were somewhat anxious for this appointment because they would be doing an echo cardiogram on his heart to get another look at the hole in his heart. We were very optimistic and hoped for good news because we haven't really seen any of the typical side effects in Logan from this condition. He has been gaining weight and eating very well. The results from the echo were not what we hoped for, at this time they still say he will probably need surgery between 4-8 months of age. It's always difficult to hear this because to us he looks absolutely perfect and healthy, its sometimes hard to believe and accept that something is wrong inside his little body. However, we will continue to trust God and the plans he has for our family. This circumstance increases our faith everyday and makes us so grateful to be in the hands of a loving, mighty and capable God. So even if the doctors are predicting surgery we know that our God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there's nothing our God cannot do. We have peace that He will heal our boy whether by a miracle or through the hands of doctors. So thank you all for your countless prayers and encouraging words, we would not make it through this without your support.

Where's Logan?

Our weekly trip to the grocery store has gotten a little crowded.

Poor Logan :) But he has no idea.

Logan Meets More Family

My Dad, Step-Mom (Kelley) and Logan

Ian had to be the first to hold Logan!

Grandpa teaching Logan to coo.

Ian reads Logan a story.

This week my dad, step-mom and little brother were out here to visit us. Ian was very excited to meet his new nephew and had to be the 1st to hold him. He also wanted to be the first person to show Logan bubbles. We've enjoyed their visit... we've played, took walks, shopped and even got some pictures taken at the mall. This was my 3rd attempt to get Logan's pictures taken. The 1st 2 times I went to Penney's and Logan was not very relaxed or comfortable. So this time we tried another place and another time of day. Logan was very awake and alert so I figured the photographer would be able to capture more of his personality... but nope, everytime Logan was smiling and cooing, she was changing her film or getting ready for a new pose. Go figure. Well I guess it saved me some money, since I didn't buy any of the prints. Maybe next time.

The Magic Touch

I always knew I had an amazing husband, but now as I watch him as a daddy with his son, I know it even more. For me personally, that has been the best part of this journey of parenting so far, watching Blake be a dad. From the second Logan was born, no actually since we knew we would be parents, he has been truly wonderful. The joy in Blake's eyes as he held Logan for the first time and everytime since warms my heart. Logan is one blessed boy to have a dad like him. Especially this past week because for some unknown reason every night between 6 and 8pm Logan has been very unsettled and the only thing that will soothe him is being in daddy's arms. I'm sure this might be exhausting or frustrating for Blake, after coming home from a long day of work, but he never complains. Instead he does what every loving father would do, holds and cuddles with his newborn son.

Its About Time

Well, here I go with my first long awaited blogging attempt. Hold the gasps (Tammy and Erika). I've really got a lot to learn, but hopefully I can stick with it.
I'm going to try to first figure out how to put some pics on here since that will be my main goal in having this blog. Besides lets be honest you're not on my site to read what I have to say but to see how Logan is growing and changing.... I don't blame you though.
